Dunn Loring Woods is a community in Vienna, Virginia. The development consists of 550 homes,
the construction of which was started in late 1961 on a tract of about 300 acres by the Yeonas Realty Company.
It is bounded by Cedar Lane, Dunn Loring Road (now Gallows Road) and a line along what is now
Interstate 66. By the summer of 1964, construction of the homes in Dunn Loring Woods and Stenwood
Elementary School was complete and the community was a fact. By May 1965, the Civic Association
was formally organized, allowing Dunn Loring Woods residents to pursue the goals a voice in county
government and improvements in the neighborhood.
